Terms of Service

LibrePay is software as a service: a dashboard and interface that help merchants accept Bitcoin directly from buyers. We observe the public blockchain to confirm payments and notify your systems. We are not a bank, not an exchange, not a money transmitter, not a custodian: we never hold your funds, your keys, or your customers' funds, and we have no technical ability to move money on anyone's behalf.

You sign in with an email address via a one-time magic link. You are responsible for controlling access to that mailbox, for the accuracy of the information you enter, and for all activity under your account. One account per person or legal entity; you must be legally able to run your business and to accept Bitcoin under the laws that apply to you.

Do not use LibrePay for fraud, theft, sanctions evasion, the sale of anything illegal in your jurisdiction, malware distribution, or abuse of the platform itself (attempts to break in, disrupt service, or harvest data). We may suspend accounts that put the service or its users at risk. Because we hold no funds, suspension stops the software service — your money was never with us to freeze.

Plans are priced in US dollars and paid in Bitcoin at the exchange rate locked when you create the payment. A plan is active once its payment is confirmed on-chain (or settled on Lightning) for the period you selected. Subscriptions do not auto-renew by card — there is no card — you renew by paying the next period; expired plans simply drop to the Free tier without data loss.

Because Bitcoin payments are irreversible by nature and we never hold funds, subscription payments are non-refundable once confirmed. We can, however, disable a plan we cannot provide — if we ever take a feature you paid for away, we will refund the unused portion proactively.

Payment status relies on public blockchain data from mempool.space (with independent fallbacks). Confirmations thresholds are configurable (1–6, default 2) and finality is deemed at ≥6 (or your configured threshold + 4). A blockchain reorganization can theoretically reverse a status we reported; we repost corrected status and webhooks as fast as the network allows. You choose your own risk level for high-value invoices by raising the threshold.

LibrePay cannot send refunds — by architecture. When a buyer requests one and you approve it, you send the refund from your own wallet to the buyer's address. We lock the amount, display a send guide, and record the txid you provide. We are not a party to the sale between you and your customer.

We work hard to keep the service available (public health endpoint, external uptime monitors, encrypted backups, restore runbooks), but the service is provided as is without warranties of any kind beyond what applicable law forbids disclaiming. To the maximum extent permitted, our aggregate liability is limited to the subscription fees you paid for the current period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Either side may end the relationship at any time: you by deleting your account, we by discontinuing the service. On our side, discontinuation triggers the exit promise documented in our guides: export your data, your seed works everywhere, and encrypted backups remain available until their retention window closes.

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes are announced on the platform (dashboard news) before taking effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms — if you disagree, your data remains exportable and your exit remains one click away.
